The Richmond Country Farms Pumpkin Patch has been part of fall around here for more than 40 years. What started as a farm tradition has grown into something generations of families come back to year after year.
Every season brings wagon rides, pumpkins in the field, farm animals, food, photos, and plenty of familiar faces. Some folks first came as children and now bring little ones of their own, which is just about the sweetest kind of full circle a farm can ask for.

Around the Patch
There’s more here than pumpkins
A Pumpkin Patch visit comes with plenty to enjoy while you’re here. Each guest gets a wagon ride out to the patch and back, a Spartan apple, the corn maze, farm photo spots, animatronic dinosaurs, and the flower fields left from sunflower season.
The wagon rides always have entertainment along the way, so the ride feels like part of the visit from the moment you climb aboard.
On the Weekends
On weekends, the train ride runs around the farm, with entertainment on the train as well. The live band also plays on weekends, adding a little music to the day while folks make their way around.

Pick Your Own
Once the wagon brings you out to the patch, you can take your time looking through the rows. There is no need to grab the first pumpkin you see, unless it happens to be the one.
Your ticket includes one pumpkin of any size, shape, or weight. Big porch pumpkins, little round ones, tall skinny ones, bumpy ones, crooked stems and all.
Pick the one your family likes best, carry it back with you, and take home a little piece of the farm with the rest of your fall day.
Patch Rides
Tractor Wagon & Weekend Train
The tractor wagon is what carries folks out to the pumpkin field and brings everyone back again when the picking is done. Entertainment rides along every time, so the trip out has a bit of fun built right into it.
On weekends, the CP Huntington train gets rolling around the farm too, with entertainment on board as it makes its loop. It is a nice way to give your feet a rest and see a little more of the grounds before heading on with the rest of your day.

The Little Things
It’s the little things that make the day. The wagon gets piled up, somebody changes their mind about which pumpkin is coming home, somebody wants one more picture, and everyone leaves with a bit more dirt on their shoes than they came with.
Before You Head Out
A Few Patch Notes
The Pumpkin Patch is a real working farm, and Richmond clay does not fool around when the rain comes. Come ready for mud, uneven ground, slippery spots, and a bit of careful walking.
Wear proper shoes
Closed-toe shoes or boots are best. Rainy days can make the field very muddy, and farm ground is no place for sandals, heels, or your good clean shoes.
Watch for slippery ground
The ground can be soft, slick, or uneven, especially after rain. Take your time, watch where you step, and help little ones along where needed.
The corn maze can get muddy
The corn maze paths are still farm paths. They can get quite muddy in wet weather, so walk carefully and expect some puddles and soft spots.
Keep children close
Children should stay with their group at all times. The farm can get busy, and there are wagons, animals, displays, rides, and uneven ground around.
Stay where visitors belong
Please stay on marked paths and open visitor areas. Do not cross ropes, fences, cones, barriers, or closed sections.
No running or climbing
Please do not run through the patch, climb displays, fences, wagons, pumpkins, farm equipment, hay, or photo setups. They may shift, tip, or be slippery.
Ride safely
Stay seated on wagons and trains, keep hands and feet inside, and wait for staff before getting on or off. Little ones should ride with an adult.
Listen to farm staff
Please follow staff directions, posted signs, ride rules, and weather notices. Some areas or activities may change if the ground is too muddy or unsafe.
Be gentle with animals
Look gently, speak softly, and do not feed or touch animals unless signs or staff say it is okay. Wash or sanitize hands after animal areas.
Come ready for the weather
Bring what your family needs for the day, whether that is rain jackets, warm layers, sunscreen, water, or a change of shoes for the ride home.
