Seasonal Event
Late Summer in Bloom
The Sunflower Festival
By late summer, the fields turn bright and full of colour. The Sunflower Festival brings rows of sunflowers, dahlias, and wildflowers to wander through, with plenty of pretty places to stop for a picture.
There are blooms all around, animals to visit, food stands to enjoy, and little surprises tucked throughout the farm. It is a sweet summer outing for families, flower lovers, and anyone who wants a sunny day outside.

The Sunflowers
More Than Twenty
Varieties
These sunflowers are not all cut from the same cloth. There are over 20 varieties planted through the fields, with big tall blooms, smaller ornamental ones, and those fluffy Teddy Bear sunflowers that everybody ends up talking about.
You will see different heights, different faces, different petal shapes, and blooms growing every which way. It gives the field a bit of personality, which is good, because a whole field of the exact same flower would be pretty, but not nearly as fun to wander through.
The Dahlias
Rows of Colour
& Variety
Dahlias are tucked into the Sunflower Festival with plenty of colour and variety. You will see small blooms, large blooms, rounded ones, ruffled ones, and rows that change as you walk along.
They are cared for year after year by lifting the tubers before winter, storing them cool, and planting them again once the growing season returns. It is the kind of work that does not look fancy while you are doing it, but it sure looks pretty later.
Around the Fields
Photo Moments
The Sunflower Festival has picture spots worked right into the fields, so taking photos feels like part of the walk. You’ll find sunflower fields, wildflower patches, rows of dahlias, rustic props, antique pieces, and sweet little corners tucked along the paths, all set where the blooms can fill in behind you.
Everywhere you turn, there’s another place that feels worth stopping. One path opens into flowers, the next gives you a little setup, and if you come when the sun is getting low, the whole field takes on that soft golden glow. It’s a lovely place for family photos, portraits, or photographers bringing clients out for a session in the blooms.
The Ride Out
Wagons to the Festival & CP Huntington Trains
Once you get your ticket at the ticket hut, the wagons are waiting to take you out to the Sunflower Festival. The tractors keep them moving back and forth all day, so you can ride out to the blooms, enjoy the fields, and catch one back when you’re ready.
The CP Huntington trains are a separate ride, and we’ve got two of them. They don’t take you out to the fields, but they do give you a sweet little tour around the farm. Climb aboard, sit back, and let the train show you a bit more of the place.
Pick up your ticket, then climb aboard the tractor wagon that brings you to and from the Sunflower Festival fields.
The CP Huntington mini trains are a separate farm ride, made for folks who want to see a little more while they are here.
